Recently, CSSC Silent Electric System (Wuxi) Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "SESTECH") and the French shipowner SOCATRA reached a cooperation agreement for six 7850DWT asphalt carriers. These ships are funded by SOCATRA, designed by SDARI, and built by China Merchants Jinling Dingheng (Yangzhou) Co., Ltd. SES TECH will provide a full set of hybrid power system solutions for this series of ships. SOCATRA, a leading French shipowner and operator, is known for deep-sea and inland oil transport.

The series ships have a length of 119.30m, a width of 20.40m, a depth of 11.00m, and a design draft of 6.70m. Equipped with SES TECH's hybrid power system solution, the system supports both PTO (Power Take-Off) and PTH (Power Take-Home) modes. In PTO mode, the system shaft power is 900kW, while in PTH mode, the system propulsion power is 1100kW. This system not only saves energy and protects the environment but also offers high economic efficiency. The entire hybrid power system is classified under Bureau Veritas(BV). Notably, SES TECH received the BV type approval certificate in 2019, demonstrating its product certification capability with BV.

SES TECH's technology has been recognized and trusted by shipowners worldwide. It has successfully provided solutions to shipowners and nearly 60 ships have been delivered with SES TECH solutions to owners from Sweden, Italy, France, Norway, Germany, and Indonesia. Vessel types include bulk carriers, chemical carriers, ro-ro ships, asphalt carriers, and container ships. This has brought extended services from shaft power generation technology to new energy power technology for maritime transportation.
